Dogs aspirin...so can I give my dog aspirin?

In all instances where a dog or other pet is in obvious pain, an immediate visit to the vets is always recommended. However, where the dog is perhaps simply suffering from known pain such as arthritic or lameness issues, giving aspirin may help in bringing pain relief and reducing inflammation. However.......

Some sources state that when regular human aspirin is given to a dog, this can cause the same problems as experienced by people when they take aspirin. This could include gastro, ulcer and clotting problems with prolonged aspirin use.

That said, for short term use normal aspirin can have some benefit and is of course the least expensive option.
